Reset your ASUS MeMo Pad to factory settings
If you forgot your password or stuck at the ASUS logo screen on ASUS MeMO Pad, you can download "Asus MeMO Pad ClearData" to restore your device to factory settings. Please refer the steps to restore your device.
Note:
1. Once Restore was performed, all data, apps, settings and personal information will be deleted after initialization.
2. Please prepare microSD card, and format the microSD card to a FAT32 format. (Before formatting the memory card, make sure you have a backup of the data as it’s lost during formatting.
Steps
Step 1: Please go to the ASUS official website to download cleardata.zip files.

Step 2: Select Cleardata.zip downloaded file and copy it to the root directory of your MicroSD card.
Step 3 : Make sure ME172V is turned off, and there is more than 10% of battery life available. Press and hold the "Power button" until you see the boot menu.
Step 4 : Select option “clear user data”(Using "Volume Up/ Volume Down" key to select, and "Power" button to make the selection).
The device will begin restore the factory mode process.
Step 5 : After the recovery process is finished, you should see the “Please remove installation media!”screen as below, and then remove the microSD card from your device.
Step 6 : After remove Micro SD, the device will reboot itself, and you will be taken through the initialization screen, following the on-screen prompts to finish setting process.

Fully charge the tablet then turn it off before getting started.
Press and hold the Volume Down button for a few seconds that press the Power key as well and keep on holding both buttons until the Recovery Menu pops up.
Select Recovery Mode from the options, by navigating with the Volume keys and confirm with the Power button.
When the Android Recovery logo appears, use the Power button to see the options, then scroll down to Factory Data Reset and confirm with Power key.
Select Yes – erase all user data and confirm your option.
Your tablet will start rebooting; don’t interrupt the procedure.

Step 1 — Asus Memo Pad ME172V - Factory Reset , Password Removal
First, try to pass the security with the Google account, registered on this tablet.
If you can't, then go to the next step.
Step 2
Switch off the tablet and eject the memory card.
If you haven't memory card, you can use another, but it must be formatted at FAT32.

Step 3
Open "cleandata.zip" archive and copy contents to the ROOT directory on the microSD.
Put the memory card in the tablet and switch on it.
The tablet will go directly to the Android BSP Installation menu
Step 5
In this menu use Volume Up/Down for movement and Power On to confirm.
Choose "clear user data"
After a while the tablet will ask you to remove the media (memory card).
The tablet tablet will restart and restore the system automatically.
Before installing the micro SD back, erase last copied files.
